Hindt, Gannon combine to score against Va. Wesleyan

VIRGINIA BEACH – The Wesley College field hockey team were upended 3-1 on the road by the Virginia Wesleyan Marlins on Wednesday.

After falling behind 1-0 at half, Wesley came out strong to start the second half. The Wolverines set up a play off of a penalty corner by Kaila Hindt. Morgan Gannon received the penalty corner and passed it back to Hindt who hit it past the Marlin keeper to nod up the game. It was Hindt's first goal and Gannon's first assist of the season

The Marlins answered back with two unanswered goal to take the decision away from the Wolverines.

Sidney Knott made nine saves in goal while Bridget Wood came in late in the game to stop four Marlin shots.

The Wolverines are back in action on Saturday when they head to Baltimore to take on the Notre Dame (Md.) Gators. Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
