Field Hockey shuts out Washington, 3-0

FREDERICA, Del. – The Wesley College field hockey team opened the 2018 campaign with a 3-0 shutout of the Washington Shorewomen at the DE Turf Complex on Friday.

The Wolverines were led by the performance of midfielder Alexiss Hulse who went two-for-two on penalty strokes and dished out an assist.

Jessica Behornar would net Wesley's first goal of the season in the 12th minute when she received a pass from Hulse and drove it past Washington's Morgan Domanico for the goal.

Kaila Hindt also registered multiple shots on goal in the contest. 

On defense, goalkeeper Lauren Berry stopped all nine shots that came her way en route to her first win and shutout of the season.

Kasey Fry (3) and Natalie Quigley (2) would combine for the team's five defensive saves.

The Wolverines are back in action on Sunday when they travel to Westminster, Md. to take on the McDaniel Green Terrors. Faceoff is scheduled for 11 a.m.
