Field Hockey shuts out Immaculata on Senior Day

DOVER, Del. – The Wesley College field hockey team honored their seniors with a 2-0 shutout over the Immaculata Mighty Macs in their final Atlantic East Conference game of the regular season.

Both teams traded quality opportunities, but each teams' defense would not be denied as they battled to a scoreless end of the first half.

Kaila Hindt got the Wolverines on the board five minutes into the second half. Rebecca Dvorak passed the ball up to Hindt in the middle of the field. Hindt took the ball down the near sideline and would cut through two Immaculata defenders in the box and slipped the ball past the goalkeeper for the Wolverines first goal of the afternoon.

Just 42 seconds later, Brittany Bishop would double Wesley's lead after scoring off the feed from Breanna Kulesza.

Defensively, Wesley limited the Immaculata to just two shots throughout the entire game. Bridget Wood, Lauren Berry and Sidney Knott all spent time in net preserving the shutout.

The Wolverines (7-9, 3-2 Atlantic East) wrap up the 2018 regular season when they host the Stockton Ospreys on Thursday, Oct. 25. Thursday evening's game is Breast Cancer Awareness night. Game time at Drass Field is scheduled for a 5:30 p.m. start.
