DOVER, Del. – The Wesley College field hockey team dropped a 3-1 non-conference decision to the Stockton Ospreys in Wesley's final regular season game of 2018.

After a brief power outage to start the game, Wesley came out hot on the restart of the game. In the ninth minute of the game, Jessica Behornar would slot a shot near post on the Stockton goalkeeper off an assist by Kasey Fry to open the game's scoring.

Stockton would score three unanswered goals to take the momentum away from Wesley. Casey Cardonna would tie the game at one in the 20th minute before second-half goals by Jennelle Long and Victoria Calazzo would provide enough insurance for the Stockton win.

Sidney Knott would make seven saves in net, including a diving save in the 53rd minute to help keep Wesley in the game.

Despite Thursday's non-conference loss, Wesley (7-10, 3-2 Atlantic East) earned the second seed and a first-round bye in next week's Atlantic East Conference Tournament. Wesley will take on the highest remaining seed in the conference semifinals on Wednesday, Oct. 31. Game time from Drass Field is still to be determined.
