Double Overtime Goal Secures Road Win 2-1 against Arcadia

Glenside, Pa. – The Wolverines now stand 5-2 after their double overtime victory at Arcadia.

How It Happened

Slow start for both the Wolverines and Arcadia on Wednesday night, September 25th. Wesley's Madison Cook found an opportunity to score but the ball found the stick of Arcadias defender keeping the score 0-0 heading into the half.

However, things got rolling for the Wolverines in the third quarter when Jessica Behornar weaved her way into the offensive 25 and took a great shot that allowed Madison Cook to deflect by the goalie.

Late into the fourth quarter Arcadias Michaela Ferlow found the back of the net and tied the game 1-1 to head into overtime.

The first overtime left both teams still standing at 1-1 resulting in a second overtime.

Minutes into the second overtime, Kaila Hindt got the ball at midfield, sprinted past the defenders and gathered her own rebound and lifted it past the goalie for the game-winner, 2-1.

Comments from the Coach

"That was a great win!"  Arcadia was a good team and fought hard until the end.  Our defense led by senior Alexiss Hulse, junior Alexis Howerin and freshman Jada Kilgore had a great game.  Offensively, seniors Madi Cook, Kaila Hindt and freshmen Carly Setting, had some great runs and many opportunities.  I was happy for entire team to get the win - especially in overtime."
