Wolverines Place 4th at Scotty Duncan Memorial
MIDDLETOWN, De. - The Wesley College golf team took 4th place honors at the Scotty Duncan Memorial Tournament held at Back Creek Country Club, hosted by the University of Delaware.  The field included 8 Division I teams, with all four NCAA teams in the state of Delaware included; the University of Delaware, Goldey-Beacom College, Wilmington College and Wesley.  Wesley shot a team total of 301, putting them 6 strokes behind the team champions University of Delaware 'A' (295).  Temple University (299) and Monmouth University (300) took second and third place honors respectively.

Tyler Smith (JR, Dover, DE/Dover) was Wesley's top finisher, placing in second place with a 1-under par 70.  Mike Rushin (SO, Bartonsville, PA/Pocono Mountain) shot a 1-over par 72 to place tied for third, with Ray Cook (SO, Seaford, DE/Seaford) shooting a 5-over par 76 to finish in 21st place.  Riley Powers (SO, Allenwood, NJ/Wall) finished with a +7 (78) for 34th place and Will Scarborough (SO, Dover, DE/Dover) and Matt Clemmons (SO, Lutherville, MD/Calvert Hall) rounding out the field in 42nd and 55th place overall.

Smith Leads Wesley to 1st Place Finish
WYOMING, De. - Tyler Smith (JR, Dover, DE/Dover) shot a 5-under par 67 (34-33) to take medalist honors at the Wesley College Golf Spring Invitational held at Wild Quail Golf and Country Club, while also leading the Wolverines to a first place finish.  Wesley shot a team total of 289 to finish 3 strokes better than second place Newport News Apprentice (292).  George Washington University shot a team total of 294 to take 3rd place honors, with the University of Delaware taking 4th place with a 295.

Wesley's Will Scarborough (SO, Dover, DE/Dover) shot a 73 (40-33) to take 8th place honors, while fellow teammate Mike Rushin (SO, Bartonsville, PA/Pocono Mountain) also shot a 73 (38-35).  All five Wesley golfer's shot in the 70's as Riley Powers (SO, Allenwood, NJ/Wall) and Ray Cook (SO, Seaford, DE/Seaford) shot a 76 (37-39) and 79 (43-36) respectively to finish out for the Wolverines.  Photo: Tyler Smith

Wesley Takes First at F&M Invite
LANCASTER, Pa. - The Wesley College golf team won the Franklin & Marshall Invitational held at Bent Creek Country Club, shooting a team total of 299.  Franklin & Marshall took second place shooting a 301 and Moravian was third with a 304.  Mike Rushin (SO, Bartonsville, PA/Pocono Mountain) took medalist honors shooting a 71 (38-33) on the day.  Riley Powers (SO, Allenwood, NJ/Wall) was the next top-Wesley individual, shooting a 73 (36-37).  Tyler Smith (JR, Dover, DE/Dover) shot a 76 (38-39) for Wesley.

Wesley Finishes 7th at Mid-Atlantic Regionals
HERSHEY, Pa. - The Wesley College golf team finished in 7th place out of 15 teams at the Mid-Atlantic Regional, held at Hershey Country Club in Hershey, PA.  Tyler Smith (JR, Dover, DE/Dover) and Riley Powers (SO, Allenwood, NJ/Wall) tied for 14th place overall, with both shooting +17 in the two day event.  Smith had a two-day total of 82-77 (159) and Powers shot an 83-76 (159).  Will Scarborough (SO, Dover, DE/Dover) and Ray Cook (SO, Seaford, DE/Seaford) both tied for 38th place, finished 24 over par.

Wolverines Finish 3rd at McDaniel Invitational
GETTYSBURG, Pa. - Wesley College took third place at the McDaniel College Invitational Golf Tournament held at the Links at Gettysburg.  The Wolverines shot a two-day total of 622 (320-302), which placed them 23 shots behind the leader Carnegie-Mellon University.  Matt Clemmons (SO, Lutherville, MD/Calvert Hall College) placed 7th for Wesley shooting a 153 (75-78).  Mike Rushin (SO, Bartonsville, PA/Pocono Mountain) (78-76) and Ray Cook (SO, Seaford, DE/Seaford) (80-74) both tied for 10th place with two-day totals of 154 apiece.  Will Scarborough (JR, Dover, DE/Dover) tied for 12th place with a 155 (82-73), while Tyler Smith (JR, Dover, DE/Dover) placed in 23rd overall with a 160 (80-80).

Wesley Pre-Season Favorite in Golf
ASTON, Pa. - Wesley College's golf team has been selected as the pre-season favorite in the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) coaches' poll.  The seven-time defending champion Wolverines received eight of the nine first-place votes and a total of 80 points to finish ahead of Cabrini College.

Cabrini, the 2005 runner-up, earned the other first-place vote and a total of 70 points to finish in second place in the poll.

"We are thrilled to be chosen as the pre-season favorite in the PAC," Wesley head coach Rick McCall said.  "We are excited for our program and for the other teams in our league to bring regional and national honors to the PAC."

Alvernia College (60), Neumann College (56), College Misericordia (47), Eastern University (36), Gwynedd-Mercy College (27), Arcadia University (18) and Immaculata University (11) rounded out the voting.

Wesley Ties for 8th Place at Pfeiffer Invitaitonal
MISENHEIMER, Nc. - Wesley College tied for 8th place at the Pfeiffer University Invitational at Pine Needles with a two-day total of 619, +51 (313-306).  Methodist College took the team championship with a 599, +31 (300-299).  Tyler Smith (JR, Dover, DE/Dover) and Riley Powers (SO, Allenwood, NJ/Wall) tied for 25th overall, shooting 11 over par for the tournament.  Mike Rushin (SO, Bartonsville, PA/Pocono Mountain) tied for 62nd with a +18 (84-76).
