Wesley Second at Bent Creek

LITITZ, Pa. - Wesley College placed three golfers in the top six as the Wolverines tied for second place at the Bent Creek Invitational hosted by Franklin & Marshall.
Rob Zimmerer (Franklin, N.J./Wallkill Valley) shot his season low with a 72 to finish tied for second, matching Mitch Mercer of Susquehanna and the Diplomats' Andrew Woods for the day's best score. Mercer was awarded first place on a tie breaker.
Jeff Owsik (Bryn Mawr, Pa./Archbishop Carroll) also shot his season low with a 74 to tie teammate Chris Osberg (Amherst, Va./Amherst) and three other golfers for sixth place.
Franklin & Marshall shot a 306 to edge both the Wolverines and Moravian who shot matching 308s. Wesley's round was its best team score of the spring and third best in 2008-09.
Capital Athletic Conference rival York (Pa.) also competed in the tournament, finishing ninth with a 317.
A total of 16 teams and 82 golfers participated in the tournament.
Wesley is now idle until trying for its 12th straight conference title at the Capital Athletic Conference Championships on April 25-26 at the Piney Branch Golf Club in Hempstead, Maryland.
