RISING SUN, Md. - The Wesley College golf team improved by 17 strokes in the second round to finish in a tie for fourth at the Goldey-Beacom Fall Classic.
Clayton Bunting (Georgetown, Del./Sussex Tech) led Wesley in a tie for 11th with a 76-78-154 during the two rounds on the par 71, 6749-yard course at The Chesapeake Bay Club.
Robert Ehrhardt (Mechanicsville, Md./Chopticon) shot 80-77-157 and finished tied for 17th. Cody Pestun (Damascus, Md./Damascus) shaved 14 strokes off his first round and ended at 87-73-160 in a 21st place tie. Corey Jefferson (Wilmington, Del./Archmere) broke his own personal best set in the first round with a second round 80 and turned in a 162 over the 36 holes, good for a tie for 26th place. DJ Keckler (Fallston, Md./Fallston) rounded out the Wolverines' five-man entry with a 104-98-202 to place 49th.
Wesley was the only Division III team in the eight team field. Division II Adelphi shot 298 in both rounds to win the team title. Louis Kelly's 74-71-145 for the Panthers gave him the individual crown.
