Pestun Finishes Second, Wesley Seventh at Regionals

HERSHEY, Pa. - Freshman Cody Pestun finished second out of 78 golfers to lead the Wesley College golf team to a tie for seventh of 14 schools at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Tournament, held at the Hershey Country Club East Course.  A native of Damascus, Md., Pestun shot a second-round 79 (73/79-152), finishing one stroke behind individual champion, Cameron Warner (78/73-151) of Franklin & Marshall.

Three other schools; Rochester, Carnegie Mellon and Gettysburg College, tied the Wolverines with a 672 through the two rounds.  St. John Fisher College ran away with the team title with a 638 and they were followed by Franklin & Marshall (651), McDaniel (661), Allegheny (664), Swarthmore (665) and Washington & Jefferson (671).

Robert Ehrhardt continued his consistent play and fired a 85 to finish in a tie for 14th overall (78/85-163).  Also turning in cards were Clayton Bunting (T-50; 88/88-176), Erik Shellenhamer (T-64; 88/93-181) and Mike Robinson (T-68; 88/95-183).

The Wolverines return to the course on April 15-16 for the Goldey Beacom Spring Invitational, held at Deerfield Golf Club in Newark, Del.
