WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The Wesley College golf team finished in a tie for fifth place out of 12 schools at the Immaculata University Spring Invitational on Sunday afternoon. The Wolverines shot a 41-over, 325, finishing two strokes behind fourth place Elizabethtown and 18 shots behind team champion, Albright College.
Freshman Mason Mendoza led Wesley by shooting a three-over 74, finishing in a tie for fifth place out of 61 golfers. Mendoza finished four strokes behind individual champion Avery Jones of Albright. Senior Robert Ehrhardt tied with four other golfers for tenth place with a seven-over 78.
Rounding out the scorers for the Wolverines were Clayton Bunting, who carded a nine-over 80 to finish 18th and Cole Messick, who finished 52nd with a 93. Madison Leone made her collegiate golf debut, shooting a 104 to finish 56th overall.
Wesley returns to action next weekend at the McDaniel Spring Invitational on March 30-31.
