Mendoza Tied For 5th at Hershey After 18

HERSHEY, Pa. – Mason Mendoza is currently tied for fifth out of 80 golfers at six-over-par, just two strokes behind the leader after the first round of the Hershey Cup, held at the par 71, 7,061 yard East Course at Hershey Country Club on Sunday afternoon.

A freshman from Dover, Del., Mendoza shot a 38 on the front nine and came home in 39 to shoot a 77, just two shots behind Rochester's Nick Palladino and Andrew Park of Swarthmore. Teammate Robert Ehrhardt is tied with five others for 20th, after shooting a nine-over 80. Clayton Bunting finished one shot behind Ehrhardt with an 81 and sits in a six-way tie for 26th.

Madison Leone shot a 101 and Cole Messick carded a 109 to round out the scoring for the Wolverines who are in 12th place after 18 holes. 

The final round of the tournament will be played on Monday, April 8.
