Golf, Mendoza Finish 2nd at CAC Championship

WYOMING, Del. – The Wesley College golf team carded a two-day team total of 636 to finish in second place at the 2013 Capital Athletic Conference held at the Par 72, 6,392 yard Wild Quail Golf & Country Club over the weekend.  York College captured the team title with a 613 while Marymount finished third (642).

Freshman Mason Mendoza, who led after 18 holes with a two-under 70, shot a final round 80 to finish in second place and be named to the All-CAC First Team and Rookie of the Year. Seniors Robert Ehrhardt and Clayton Bunting were also named to the Conference First Team as Ehrhardt recorded a 75-76-151 to finish tied for third.  Bunting finished fifth with an 80-72-152 as his second-round 72 was the best round of any golfer on the day.

Madison Leone, the first female to play in a CAC men's sport championship, finished 15th of 16 after carding an 89-94-183.  Cole Messick placed 16th with an 104-94-198.
