ASHLAND, Va. - The Wesley College Golf team shot 10 strokes better on day two of the Randolph-Macon Invitational then they did on day one, climbing to 14th in the standings at the event featuring several top Division III teams from the region.
Dylan Chessher shot the team's low total on day one with a 79, and finished with the two-day low total, carding a 157. Tyler Spielberger shot a day one 83 but rebounded with a low round for the Wolverines, hitting a 76 to combine for a 159 total. Sean Creel shot a consistent 82-83-165 while Matt Maskell went 86-83-169. Ricky Mulloy rounded out the Wesley five, hitting a 93 on day one but made a nine-stroke improvement, shooting an 84 on day two to combine for a 177.
Wesley finished 14th overall, placing ahead of Emory and Henry, Virginia State, Roanoke, and Capital Athletic Conference competitor Mary Washington. The squad will tee off again on Saturday October 15 at Ursinus before hosting the Andrew Geyer Memorial Tournament on October 22 and 23, their fall season finale.
