Chessher in tie for fifth place after Day One of CAC Championships

CAPE CHARLES, Va. – The Wesley College men's golf team currently sits in third place after the first day of the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Golf Championships, held at Bay Creek Resort in Cape Charles, Va.

As a team, Wesley carded 316. Christopher Newport is in the lead with a 292 while Mary Washington is in second with a 315

Dylan Chessher shot a 75 to sit in a tie for fifth place. Chessher is two strokes behind the lead.

Tyler Spielberger and Eric Speidel are in a six-way tie for 13th place, carding an 80.

Matt Maskell is in the top 20, finishing 19th after the first day with an 81.

Josh Covey rounds out the Wesley golfers with a 90 to place in a tie for 29th.

The CAC Championship continues on Saturday. Wesley's tee-time is set for 12:20 p.m.
