Men's Golf sits third after rain-shortened first day of Atlantic East Championships

CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. – The Wesley College men's golf team sits in third place after the first day of the Atlantic East Conference Championships at the Scranton Country Club in Clarks Summit, Pa. Golfers only completed nine holes due to inclement weather in Northeastern Pennsylvania.

As a team, Wesley totaled 185. Cabrini leads after the first day with a 173 while Marywood is in second place with a team score of 178.

Cody Simet is in a three-way tie for third place with a six-over 43. Simet notched a birdie on the par-five sixth hole and tallied two pars. John Riggins carded an eight-over 45 with two pars on the par-three seventh and par-four eighth hole. Josh Covey shot a nine-over 46 to finish the first day in a tie for 14th place. Covey started the round with a birdie on the par-four first hole and carded two pars on the day.

Kevin Polk tallied a 51 to place 22nd while Josh Windsor is in 28th place with a 68.

Cabrini's Gerald Haftmann and Marywood's James Tressler are the leaders after the first day with a four-over 41.

Windsor will open the second day at the Atlantic East Championships with an 11:50 a.m. tee time. Below are the tee times for the Wesley golfers.
