Johnson Signs with Birmingham Gladiators

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Wesley College's all-time leading scorer Rashawn Johnson has signed a contract to play for the Birmingham Gladiators of the Americas Basketball International.

Johnson capped a stellar career in 2008-09 by leading Wesley to its first Capital Athletic Conference Championship and NCAA Tournament appearance. He finished his career with 2,394 points to finish with over 600 more points than the previous record holder.

The Gladiators won the ABI's Freewill Games last summer, defeating the Venezuelan National Team 86-84.

Americas Basketball International is an established professional international basketball league in the United States which will play professional basketball teams in different leagues in Central America, South America, and the Caribbean.
