ANNVILLE, Pa. - Wesley College shot 58 percent from the floor as the Wolverines pounded Rowan 90-53 in the first round of the Rinso Marquette Tournament at Lebanon Valley College.
Paul Reynolds (Smyrna, Del./Smyrna) turned in a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds. The junior hit 7-of-11 field goals, dished out six assists and added a steal.
JJ Bryant (Dover, Del./Dover) turned in a strong collegiate debut, hitting 6-of-12 field goals, including 4-of-7 from three-point range on his way to 17 points.
Sophomore David Langan (Sayreville, N.J./Sayreville War Memorial) was stellar in his return after missing 2010-11 due to injury. The center went 8-of-12 shooting on his way to 16 points, hauled in nine rebounds and blocked two shots.
Wesley opened the game with a 13-4 run and led by 15 points at the half, 46-31.
The Wolverines hit 37-of-64 field goals as a team and went 9-of-19 from beyond the arc (47 percent).
For Rowan, Jason Sofman had 17 points on 6-of-11 shooting and Dee Benson added 11 points.
Wesley will face the winner of the Lebanon Valley/Gallaudet contest in the championship game of the tournament on November 20 at 3:00 PM.
