Second Half Surge Lifts Lions Over Wolverines

Dover, Del. – Both teams fought hard in the conference battle between Wesley and Penn State-Harrisburg this evening. The Wolverines battled for the lead in the half before a deep shot from behind the arc by Evan Anderson put the Wolverines up 16-8 with 12:50 remaining in the half. The Wolverines ended the half leading the Lions 37-32.

 

Freshman Brian Cameron led the team with 21 points and 8 rebounds. Cameron dished out three assists and caused three turnovers. Cameron shot 33.3% from behind the arc 45.5 from the paint. Paul Clemons recorded 19 points and eight rebounds in tonight's battle. Evan Anderson went 3-6 from behind the arc, notching 17 points on the night. Anderson shot 45.5% from the floor and caused one turnover.

 

Entering the second half the Wolverines led 56-48 with 10:23 remaining in the game. Wesley maintained the lead for most of the second half. With three minutes remaining in the game the Lions led the Wolverines by one. With just 00:30 seconds remaining in the game Clemons sunk a free throw shot to tie the game. The Lions inbounded the ball and hit a three with just 00:09 seconds left. The Wolverines fought hard, but fell 73-70 tonight against the Lions.

 

The Wolverines look to bounce back as they hit the road to take on conference foe Mary Washington on Saturday afternoon at 3:00pm.
