Second Half Push Not Enough against Seahawks

ST. MARY'S, Md. – The Wesley College men's basketball team dropped a Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) contest to the St. Mary's Seahawks on the road, 86-78 on Wednesday.

Junior JW Lawson paced the Wolverine offense tallying 26 points off the bench. Lawson connected on 10-of-17 shots and added five free-throws. Lawson also notched four steals.

Fellow junior Paul Clemons and freshman Brian Cameron also chipped in with double-digit points for the Wolverines. Clemons recorded 17 points on 7-of-13 shooting and pulled down eight rebounds while Cameron scored 11 points and hauled five boards.

Senior Rasahn Brinkley registered nine points and eight rebounds while junior George Cook dished out a game-high seven assists.

Lavonte Sanders led the Seahawks with 19 points.

The Wolverines (7-11, 5-6 CAC) will be back in action on Saturday, Jan. 28 when they hit the road to take on the Frostburg Bobcats. The game is scheduled for a 3 p.m. start.
