Wolverines upended by Spartans

DOVER, Del. – The Wesley College men's basketball team was upended at home by the York Spartans, 89-69 in a Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) contest Wednesday.

The Wolverines were paced by guards Evan Anderson and JW Lawson, who each notched double figures in the loss. Anderson led the Wolverines with 19 points, 14 of which came in the first half. Lawson had 11 points and grabbed six rebounds.

Fellow guard Brian Cameron scored nine points with six rebounds. Down low, forward Paul Clemons factored in eight points, seven rebounds, four assists and three steals.

Off the bench, guard George Cook scored six points with four assists while forward Jordan Johnson pulled down five rebounds along with netting four points.

Brad Wesner led all scorers with 25 points off the bench for the Spartans.

The Wolverines (9-13, 7-8 CAC) will be back in action Saturday, Feb. 11 when they head to Newport News, Va. to take on the No. 3 ranked Christopher Newport Captains. Tip off from the Freeman Center is scheduled for 4 p.m.
