DOVER, Del. – The Wesley College men's basketball team dropped a 98-79 decision to the Mary Washington Eagles on Saturday to end the 2016-17 regular season.
Sophomore guard Evan Anderson led the Wolverines with a season-best 25 points on 7-of-16 shooting. Anderson drained four three-pointers and went a perfect 7-for-7 at the charity stripe. Anderson also added three rebounds, two assists and a steal.
Junior guard JW Lawson registered 23 points and eight rebounds for the Wolverines. Lawson went 8-of-16 from the field and knocked down two of his four shots from behind the arc.
Junior forward Paul Clemons notched a double-double in the loss. Clemons came off the bench to net 12 points and pull down a game-high 12 rebounds for his fourth double-double of the season.
In his final contest in Wentworth Gymnasium, senior forward Jordan Johnson tallied nine points and seven rebounds.
Eric Shaw led the Eagles with 28 points.
The Wolverines (10-15, 8-10 CAC) earned the sixth seed in next week's CAC Championship Tournament. The Wolverines will head up to York to take on the third-seeded Spartans on Tuesday, Feb. 21. Tip off from the Charles Wolf Gymnasium is scheduled for 8 p.m.
