CHESTER, Pa. – The Wesley College men's basketball team opened up their 2017-18 season with an exhibition contest with Division II West Chester University on Saturday. The Wolverines fell to the Golden Rams, 82-69.
The Wolverines held the 40-37 lead heading to halftime but the Golden Rams took the lead early in the second half to overtake the Wolverines.
Four Wolverines tallied double-digit points. Brian Cameron led with a team-high 19 points on 6-of-10 shooting and a perfect 5-of-5 from the free-throw line. Cameron also pulled down four rebounds, stole the ball twice and dished out two assists.
JW Lawson scored 10 points, grabbed a team-high seven rebounds, picked up six steals and handed out four assists.
Mychal Stefanides notched eight points off the bench.
Jackson Hyland led the Golden Rams with 24 points and eight rebounds.
The Wolverines open their regular season on Wednesday when they head to Galloway, N.J. to take on the Stockton Ospreys. Tip off is set for 7 p.m.
