GALLOWAY, N.J. – The Wesley College men's basketball team fell in overtime, 87-82 in their season opener to the Stockton Ospreys on Wednesday.
With 13 lead changes, it was a hard-fought game. Wesley led Stockton 35-32 heading to halftime. Stockton held a four-point lead with a minute and a half left to go in regulation. Paul Clemons sank two free throws to cut the lead to two with a minute left in game.
Evan Anderson forced overtime when he made a jump shot with 23 seconds to go in regulation to tie the game at 75.
Stockton outscored Wesley 12-7 in the overtime session to take the victory.
JW Lawson led the Wolverines with 25 points and 10 rebounds to notch a double-double. Brian Cameron racked up 24 points and pulled down seven rebounds while Evan Anderson scored 14 points. Paul Clemons tallied 10 points and seven rebounds.
Kashaun Barnes had a game-high 30 points for Stockton.
The Wolverines (0-1) will travel to the University of Delaware this Friday to face off against the Blue Hens. Game time from the Bob Carpenter Center is set for 7 p.m.
