Men’s basketball drops home opener to York

DOVER, Del. - The Wesley College men's basketball team was defeated 97-79 by the Spartans of York College on Wednesday in a Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) matchup.

The teams played a close game in the first half trading the lead back-and-forth, but the Spartans ended the half with a 47-44 lead over the Wolverines.

York outscored Wesley 50-35 in the second half to secure their victory. 

Four players registered double-digit points for the Wolverines. Anderson led the team with 19 points while Cameron brought in 17 points and five rebounds in the loss. 

JW Lawson notched 15 points with a team-high eight rebounds.

From the bench, Mychal Stefanides dropped 11 points and six rebounds. Derick Charles also chipped in with three points.

The Wolverines (1-3, 1-1 CAC) will travel to Buena Vista, Va. to face off against the Southern Virginia Knights on Saturday. Game time is set for 3 p.m.
