Men’s Basketball Battles Route 13 Rival Salisbury with Overtime Win

Dover, Del. - The Wesley Men's Basketball team battled the route 13 Seagulls Sunday evening at Wentworth Gym. The Wolverines pulled off a 101-99 win in overtime. 

Brian Cameron and Mychal Stefandies took the lead putting up 26 points each. Cameron went 6-for-19 from the field, 3-for-11 in three pointers and made 11-of-13 free throws. Stefandies went 8-for-17 from the field, made 6-of-13 three pointers and made 4-of-6 free throws. Another big contributor to the win was Greg Bloodsworth who put up 17 points. Russ Keyhea led with eight rebounds followed by Michael McCants who got seven.  

Terrence Braxton opened scoring for the Wolverines off a 3-pointer. The Wolverines continued to lead from there, but the game was tied 50-50 going into the half. The second half of the game both teams traded points which ultimately ended in a 32-32 tie to head into overtime.  

Overtime began with a 3-pointer by Stefandies from Braxton. The Seagulls answered right back with their own 3-pointer. After many free throws were taken by both teams, the Wolverines capped off the win 101-99. 

The Wolverines shot 38 percent from the field, 34.1 from behind the arc and 74.3 percent from the free throw line.  

The Wolverines will head to the Christopher Newport Captain Invitational after the holidays on Saturday December 28th . Tip-off is scheduled for 2pm.  Men's Basketball Battles Route 13 Rival Salisbury with Overtime Win
