Men's Basketball Soars Past Emory and Henry, 97-75

Newport News, Va. - The Wesley Men's Basketball team took on the Emory & Henry Wasps in game one of the CNU Captains Invitational. The team defeated the Wasps 97-75. Brian Cameron led the Wolverines by posting an impressive 34 points and 10 rebounds. Greg Bloodsworth posted 21 points while Mychal Stefandies tallied 20 in the team win.  

Terrence Braxton led the team with 14 rebounds followed by Derick Charles who found 10 of his own.  

Stefandies got scoring started for the Wolverines off a three-pointer in the first minute of the game. The scoring continued as Wesley took a 15-9 lead halfway through the first. A three-pointer by Bloodsworth gave the Wolverines a 46-37 lead going into the second. The scoring continued throughout the game as both teams traded points but that was not enough for the Wasps. Wesley put up 51 more points to Emory and Henry's 38 to take the win 97-75.  

The Wolverines shot 40.8 percent from the field, 41.9 from behind the arc and 81.3 percent from the free throw line.
