Dover, Del. – Wesley celebrated its last home game Wednesday night with a win over the Cabrini Cavaliers, defeating them 87-77. While securing their sixth straight win, the Wolverines also commemorated its players who will be graduating in the spring with Senior Night.
Men's Basketball got off to a blazing start, scoring seven straight points off the bat. Cabrini quickly made up its lost ground by catching up to the Wolverines 12-10 with 12:24 left to go. After exchanging leads multiple times within the last minutes of the half, Wesley pulled away leading 42-36 at the half.
The Wolverines kept the Cavaliers in hindsight throughout the second half. The team's defense prevented Cabrini from coming within more than five points of taking the lead. With 6:24 left in the game, Wesley had gone on an eight-point scoring run which put the nail in the Cavaliers' coffin as the Wolverines would go on to secure their tenth conference win. The team had already secured a spot in the playoffs previously.
Brian Cameron had a field day in the paint as he grabbed 10 rebounds. His 21 points gave him a double-double on the night as he also sent the ball for three assists.
Terrence Braxton put up 14 points and 14 rebounds, securing a double-double of his own in a performance that helped Wesley win their 16th game of the regular season.
Brye Hopkins also accumulated 17 points and seven rebounds.
Wesley's final regular season game will be Saturday at Gwynedd Mercy at 3 p.m., where they will look to keep their hot streak going just in time for the playoffs.
