Wesley Men's Basketball is Headed to the NCAA Tournament

Dover, Del. – Just days after winning the Atlantic East Conference Championship Game, the Wesley Men's Basketball team was selected to compete in the NCAA DIII Men's Basketball Tournament. The tournament begins Friday March 6thand consists of 64 teams competing in high stake, win or go home matchups. The Wolverines will take on Randolph-Macon College in a round one matchup. 

The Wolverines had a strong regular season, going 18-9. Senior Guard Brian Cameron took charge offensively throughout the season, leading the team in both points and assists. There are many strong players on the team who can dominate on both ends of the court, including Greg Bloodsworth and Terrence Braxton. Cameron and Bloodsworth combine for an average of 44.6 points per game, while Braxton averages 7.3 rebounds per game, 5.3 of which are defensive. The team has won eight of their last nine games and hopes to come out strong to defeat the Yellow Jackets and advance to round two in the tournament. 

Randoph-Macon has a 26-2 overall record, and heads into this tournament on a three-game win streak. Junior Guard Buzz Anthony is the team's leading scorer, averaging 15.9 points per game (ppg). Miles Mallory is a dominant defensive player, averaging 2.1 blocks per game. 

The Wesley College Wolverines will head to Virginia to take on the Randolph-Macon Yellow Jackets, Friday March 6 for a tip off time of 6:30pm.
