Gorrow Named Assistant Coach

DOVER, Del. - Wesley College men's lacrosse Head Coach Christian Zwickert announced the addition of Bill Gorrow to his coaching staff.

Gorrow was an assistant coach at Elizabethtown last season after serving as the head coach at Franklin & Marshall from 2002-2007.

He went 51-37 with the Diplomats, highlighted by an appearance in the NCAA Quarterfinals in 2003 and the 2001 ECAC Championship.  Gorrow coached eight All-Americans, two Academic All-Americans and his teams were nationally ranked from 2003-2005.

Prior to F&M, Gorrow coached at Anne Arundel Community College from 1993-2001, posting an astounding 106-29 record.  He was named the NJCAA National Coach of the Year in 1999 and won the 1998 NJCAA National Championship.  His squads advanced to the championship game on three other occasions and to the final four on two more.

Gorrow began his coaching career at Ithaca College in 1980, serving two seasons as a graduate assistant coach.  He moved on to Washington (Md.) College in 1981 before landing a Division I head coaching job at Georgetown in 1983.  From 1989 to 1992, Gorrow was an assistant coach at the United States Naval Academy.

He received his bachelor's degree in Physical Education & Sport Management from the State University at Brockport in 1979.

Gorrow will help replace Kyle Plumly and Chris Miller, both of whom moved on to Division I assistant coaching positions at Providence College and VMI, respectively.

Gorrow joins the staff of a team that went 9-6 in 2008.
