DOVER, Del. - Wesley College's Eric Crumbock (Levittown, Pa./Truman) had a hand in each of the game's first three goals, but No. 3 Stevenson outscored the Wolverines 12-2 over the remainder of the half on the way to a 23-7 win.
Crumbock assisted on man up goals by Nick Pisacano (Kings Park, N.Y./Kings Park) and Dan Skeels (Roseland, N.J./West Essex) and scored with an assist from Tyler DiStefano (Jackson, N.J./Jackson Memorial) as Wesley (2-9, 1-4 CAC) stunned the Mustangs (12-1, 4-1 CAC) by taking a 3-0 lead with 6:49 left in the first quarter.
Stevenson, however, scored six times in the final 5:23 of the period to take a 6-3 lead.
Skeels scored his second goal of the half to cut it to a two-goal game less than a minute into the second quarter, but the Mustangs outscored the Wolverines 7-1 over the remainder of the half.
Stevenson's defense limited Wesley to just a pair of second half goals as the Mustangs pulled away.
Skeels and Brad Smith (Glen Burnie, Md./Old Mill) each scored twice for the Wolverines. Jimmy Colliflower (Westminster, Md./Westminster) paced the defense with seven ground balls and forced four turnovers. Shane Lynch (Frederick, Md./Gov. Thomas Johnson) added six ground balls and caused three turnovers.
Sean Mathews (Baltimore, Pa./Pennsbury) started the game and made four saves in just over 20 minutes of action. Michael McGuigan (Middletown, Del./Middletown) played the remainder of the contest and stopped 15 shots.
Kyle Moffitt had four goals and two assists to lead Stevenson with six points. Sean Calabrese and Neal Barthelme each had four goals, as well.
Ray Witte won 17-of-24 face offs and had 12 ground balls.
Pete Wesselman made seven saves in the first three quarters. Ian Bolland stopped a pair of shots in the fourth quarter.
Wesley travels to Mary Washington on April 13.
