DOVER, Del. - Wesley literally weathered the storm against Frostburg State, claiming a 13-8 win over the visiting Bobcats in downpour conditions in a game delayed nearly an hour by lightning in the fourth quarter.

The Wolverines (4-5, 1-1 CAC) benefitted from a six-point evening by Scott Brozey (Milton, Del./Cape Henlopen) and a four-goal night by Joe Trezza (Kings Park, N.Y./Kings Park).

Frostburg State (3-6, 0-2 CAC) trailed just 2-1 after a goal by Phil Hess midway through the first quarter, but Brozey had a goal and an assist in a four-goal spree to end the period to put Wesley up 6-1.

Both teams scored just once in the second period as the Wolverines carried an 8-2 lead into the intermission.

Justin D'Alonzo (Prospect Park, Pa./Interboro) had a hand in all three Wesley goals in the third period with a pair of scores and an assist as the Wolverines led 10-4 with just 15 minutes to play.

Frostburg State, however, took the momentum in the fourth quarter with a three-goal spurt that cut the lead to 10-6 after a score by Zach Douglas with 8:15 to play.

During an ensuing Wesley timeout, lightning caused a 45-minute delay in the action.  When play resumed the Bobcats struck first, making it a three-goal game with 6:37 remaining.

Brozey, however, dished out two assists and then scored as the Wolverines built the lead to 13-7.

Brozey finished the evening with two goals and four assist.  D'Alonzo and Eric Crumbock (Levittown, Pa./Truman) matched him with two goals each.

Sean Mathews (Baltimore, Pa./Pennsbury) stopped a dozen shots in net.

Michael McQuarrie (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright) went 15-of-22 on faceoffs and had 12 ground balls.

Dan Dowd and Ryan Serio each had two goals for the Bobcats, while Serio added an assist for three points.

Tyler Haines made 13 saves before giving way in the final three minutes to Thomas Issermoyer.

The Wolverines remain at home to continue CAC play against Hood on Saturday, March 26 at 1:00 PM.
