DOVER, Del. - Wesley College tied the game twice in the fourth quarter and forced overtime, but Hood's Kris Miner scored the game-winner with 3:11 left in the extra period for an 8-7 win.
The Blazers (4-4, 1-2 CAC) took a 6-5 lead into the final period before Kevin Reinert (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) took an assist from Scott Brozey (Milton, Del./Cape Henlopen) to knot the game just over a minute into the action. Hood's Dominique Shorter scored with 12:55 left in the game, but Brozey scored unassisted for Wesley (4-6, 1-2 CAC) with 5:02 to play.
The Blazers won the face off in overtime and called timeout before Miner found the back of the net for the win.
The win was Hood's first CAC win in the program's history, snapping a 34-game skid against conference foes.
William Lane made 17 saves in goal for Hood.
For Wesley, Brozey finished with three goals and an assist, while Eric Crumbock (Levittown, Pa./Truman) scored three times as well. Michael McQuarrie (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright) won 11-of-19 face offs and had seven ground balls. Sean Mathews (Baltimore, Pa./Pennsbury) stopped nine shots.
Shorter had two goals for Hood and added an assist for three points. Miner also scored twice.
The Wolverines outshot the Blazers 47-28 in the contest.
Wesley travels to No. 2 Stevenson on March 30.
