Men’s Lacrosse Travels To Kean Wednesday Night

DOVER, Del. – Wesley College's men's lacrosse team will look to get back on track as it travels to face Kean University on Wednesday, February 29, at 6 pm.  The Cougars are coming off an 11-8 victory over Castleton State College in their opener on February 25.

The Wolverines dropped a 12-10 decision to Greensboro College on February 18 after rallying from a five-goal deficit to tie the game.  Nathan Gorski led the Navy & White offensively with two goals and two assists while Joe Donato, Tim Dougherty and Scott Brozey also had multi-goal games.

At the 'X', Michael McQuarrie tallied a team-high six ground balls while Ken McDonald caused a pair of Pride turnovers.  Making his first start in goal since 2010, Matt Ryan stopped 14 shots.

Kean is coming off six-straight winning seasons and finished 8-7 in 2011.  Those six seasons included four trips to the ECAC Playoffs, a Skyline Conference Championship in 2008 and an ECAC Regional title in 2010.

In the Cougars' season-opening victory over the Spartans, Richard Cheifitz led the way with four goals and two assists.  Dylan Conte, Nick Angrisani and John Marcelli also had two goals each while Mike Sheehan tallied three assists off the bench.  Kean doubled up on CSC in shot attempts, 48-24.

Following the matchup with Kean, Wesley will take on Eastern University on March 7 in a neutral site game in Virginia Beach.
