DOVER, Del. – Wesley College's men's lacrosse team fell to No. 7 Stevenson University, 19-3, in Capital Athletic Conference action on Wednesday afternoon at Scott D. Miller Stadium. The Wolverines are now 1-7 overall and 1-3 in the CAC.
Tim Dougherty had assists on every goal for the Navy & White while Joe Donato, Nathan Gorski and James Moss scored goals.
Matt Ryan had a solid game in goal for the Wolverines, tallying 13 saves on the day. Michael McQuarrie picked up a game-high 12 ground balls while Dion Harris and Ken McDonald caused a pair of turnovers each.
Stevenson (8-2, 3-0 CAC) was led by Stephen Bannick (5g, 3a) and Chris Dashiell (2g, 5a). Four goalkeepers got in the game for the seventh-ranked Mustangs with Ian Bolland not allowing a goal in the first half.
The Mustangs scored the game's first 16 goals before Gorski found the back of the net for Wesley off a pass from Dougherty with 3:54 left in the third. SU outscored Wesley, 3-2 in the fourth with Donato and Moss coming through with 8:20 and 5:00 left in regulation, respectively.
The Wolverines return to action on Saturday, March 31, when they travel to Frostburg State for a 1:00 pm CAC faceoff.
