Men’s Lacrosse Falls in CAC Opener

YORK, Pa. – The Wesley College men's lacrosse team fell in Capital Athletic Conference action to York (Pa.), 17-1, on Saturday afternoon.  In a CAC-opening loss, Wesley falls to 3-4 overall while the Spartans improve to 7-2 overall and even their CAC record at 1-1.

York led at halftime, 8-0, and scored five-straight to open the third period before Paul Leonhauser put Wesley on the board with 2:11 left in the period.

Kyle Funk and Michael McQuarrie led Wesley with four ground balls apiece while David Gorski and Justin Sieburt had three each.  Funk also caused three turnovers while Sieburt caused a pair.

Matt Ryan made 15 saves for Wesley, while York's Tyler Hutson led all scorers with five goals and two assists.

Wesley returns to action on March 30, when they travel to take on CAC rival Mary Washington, in a 1 pm faceoff.
