#6 Salisbury Defeats Men's Lacrosse

DOVER, Del. – The Wesley College men's lacrosse team fell to No. 6 Salisbury, 24-4, on Wednesday night at Scott D. Miller Stadium.  The Wolverines fall to 3-7 overall and 0-4 in the Capital Athletic Conference while the Sea Gulls improve to 12-3 on the year and 5-0 in league play.

Salisbury scored the first 13 goals of the game before Dan Tryon put Wesley on the board with 7:32 left in the second period.  The Gulls closed out the half with two-straight scores and went into halftime with a 15-1 lead.

Lane Kocovsky scored off an assist by Jathan Mahaffey to open the third quarter before the Sea Gulls ran off eight straight to close out the period.  The Wolverines, on unassisted scores by Patrick Lipari and Sam Seibert outscored SU, 2-1 in the fourth but the deficit was too much to overcome.

Matt Ryan and Sam Kennedy split halves in goal for the Wolverines. Ryan made 14 saves on 29 shot attempts while Kennedy stopped 10 shots on 19 attempts.

Tryon and Eric Bohns caused a pair of turnovers for Wesley while Jack O'Neil was credited with a team-high four ground balls.

Eric Kluge scored four goals to lead Salisbury, who had three other players with four points.

Wesley hosts Southern Virginia on April 13 at 1 pm.
