YORK, Pa. – Wesley College's Sam Kennedy has been named the Capital Athletic Conference Men's Lacrosse Co-Defensive Player of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon. Sharing the honor with Christopher Newport's Nick Kirschke, this is the first time that Kennedy has received a CAC weekly award.
A junior goalkeeper from Columbus, Ohio, Kennedy, who was making just his second career start, stopped a career-high 16 shots in Wesley's season opening victory over Scranton. Kennedy was also credited with a pair of ground balls.
Kennedy and the Wolverines return to action on Wednesday, February 26, when they host No. 8 Washington College in a 4 pm faceoff.
