DOVER, Del. – Wesley College's men's lacrosse team fell to St. Mary's, 15-6, in a Capital Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon at Scott D. Miller Stadium. The Wolverines now stand at 5-3 overall and 0-2 in the CAC while the Seahawks move to 3-4 on the year and 2-1 in league play.
Despite 17 saves by goalkeeper Josh Dean, Wesley struggled offensively and St. Mary's outscored the Wolverines, 7-1 in the first period and took an 11-3 lead at halftime. The Seahawks scored the only two goals of the third and started the fourth with two-straight goals to take their largest lead of 15-3 with 8:30 remaining in regulation.
The Wolverines closed out the game with three unanswered goals, two of which came from Jack Redefer. Redefer and James Moss both had two goals on the day but Moss also dished out an assist for a team-high three points. John Chenault and Sam Seibert also scored for the Wolverines.
Eric Simon scored four goals to lead the Seahawks while Joey Casey stopped five shots.
The Wolverines host Salisbury on Wednesday, April 1 at 7 pm.
