Fingles, Wassum net hat tricks in win over Immaculata

DOVER, Del. – The Wesley College men's lacrosse team picked up a 12-10 win over the Immaculata Mighty Macs on Saturday at Drass Field at Scott D. Miller Stadium.

The Wolverines got up early and kept the pressure on the Mighty Macs. The Wolverines tallied eight first-half goals en route to their second consecutive victory.

Junior Joe Fingles and sophomore Josh Wassum netted hat tricks to pace the Wolverine offense. Wassum also added five ground balls and two assists.

Senior Nate Gemmato and freshman Nick Bruhn were the controlled the faceoff circle for the Wolverines. Gemmato went 10-of-16 on the draw while Bruhn won five of his seven faceoffs.

Freshman Leo Kelly recorded two goals and an assist while Gemmato, junior Will Fingles and sophomore Zach Weitzel each added a goal and an assist in the win.

Freshman James Cella stonewalled 20 Mighty Mac shots for the victory.

Tyler Black and Mike Reardon also registered hat tricks for the Mighty Macs.

The Wolverines (2-1) will be back in action on Wednesday, March 1 when they take on the Hanover Panthers at the U.S. Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, Md. The game is scheduled to start at 4 p.m.
