Wassum, Cella leads Wesley against St. Mary’s

DOVER, Del. – The Wesley College men's lacrosse team dropped a home Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) contest, 20-7 to the St. Mary's (Md.) Seahawks on Saturday.

Josh Wassum led the Wolverine offense with four goals. Wassum also scooped up five ground balls and caused two turnovers.

Joe Fingles also had a multi-goal day for the Wolverines, putting away two goals. Fingles also picked up three ground balls. Zach Farnell also tallied a goal on his only shot for the Wolverines.

James Cella made a career-high 21 saves in goal for the Wolverines.

Steve Jones scored four goals for the Seahawks.

The Wolverines will wrap up their three-game CAC home stand on Wednesday when they host the No. 1 ranked Salisbury Seagulls. The game is scheduled for 4 p.m. start.
