Cella sets season-high saves total against CNU

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Wesley College men's lacrosse team dropped a 19-4 road Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) decision on Saturday to the Christopher Newport Captains.

James Cella stopped a season-high 26 shots in the loss. Josh Wassum, Zach Farnell, Nich Bruhn and Will Fingles each tallied a goal for the Wolverines. Joe Fingles assisted on Farnell's man-up goal in the first quarter.

Ben Mitzel scooped up eight ground balls while Alex Collins, William Poppe and Zach Darnell each caused two turnovers on defense.

Will Geise scored five goals and had two assists for the Captains.

The Wolverines will end their three-game road stretch on Wednesday when they travel to Arlington, Va. to battle the Marymount (Va.) Saints in a CAC game. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
