Gemmato tallies hat trick against Marymount

ARLINGTON, Va. – The Wesley College men's lacrosse team suffered an 18-10 defeat on the road to the Marymount (Va.) Saints in a Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) contest.

Nate Gemmato led Wesley with a hat trick. Gemmato also won five faceoffs, scooped up three ground balls and caused two turnovers.

Josh Wassum tallied two goals while Leo Kelly, Joe Fingles, Hunter Coho, Chris Smith and Zach Weitzel each put away a goal in the loss. Kelly, Joe Fingles and Will Fingles each added an assist. Joe Fingles also picked up five ground balls and caused two turnovers.

Zach Darnell caused two turnovers on defense. Nick Bruhn chipped in with five faceoff wins.

James Cella stopped eight Marymount shots in goal.

Nathan Beard led Marymount with three goals and two assists.

The Wolverines will wrap up the 2017 season at home when they host the Southern Virginia Knights in a CAC matchup at Drass Field. The game is scheduled to start at noon on Saturday. Prior to the game, the Wolverines will honor their seniors as part of Senior Day.
