Men’s lacrosse falls at Mary Washington

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Wesley College men's lacrosse team suffered an 18-4 loss to Capital Athletic Conference foe Mary Washington on Saturday.

Josh Wassum recorded two goals and an assist for the Wolverines. Joe Fingles and Zach Farnell each registered a goal and a ground ball in the loss. Farnell added a pair of assists.

Zach Darnell and Nolan Vesey each caused two turnovers. Darnell also picked up six ground balls. Ben Mitzel and Carlin Fernandez each collected five ground balls.

James Cella stopped 13 shots in net. Dylan Sicca came in relief in goal for the final 11 minutes of the game and blocked two shots.

Chris White and Bryant Baus had hat tricks for the Eagles.

The Wolverines will be back in action at Drass Field at Scott D. Miller Stadium on Wednesday when they host the second-ranked York (Pa.) Spartans. The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start.
