DOVER, Del. - On Saturday, after a close battle, the Wolverines fell 10-7 in Atlantic East Conference action to Immaculata.
The game started with both defensive ends shutting down play as the first quarter rendered the Mighty Macs and Wolverines scoreless. Both teams found their fire in the early minutes of the second quarter with Immaculata getting on the board first. Wesley responded with back-to-back goals from sophomores Ryan Gilman and Keonte Coates to take the lead. Freshman Enosh Angelot would end the scoring for the Wolverines in the first half off an assist from sophomore Joe Delgado to trail Immaculata 4-3.
Immaculata opened the scoring in the second half, but junior Kyle Mackall-Lloyed found an open Delgado shortly after to keep the Wolverines within one. The Mighty Macs went up by three after back-to-back goals but with 3:32 remaining in the third quarter an unassisted goal by junior Derek Hallock kept the Wolverines with reach going into the fourth trailing 7-5.
Wesley's fate was sealed after the Mighty Macs scored twice more to take a four goal lead that the Wolverines could not recover from. Mackall-Lloyd would earn another assist once again finding Delgado and Gilman would close the scoring with :07 left in the game for the final 10-7 loss.
