Dramatic Overtime Win in Season Opener

ASHLAND, Va. - Kyle Lawrence lifted Wesley to a dramatic win in the 98th minute with a penalty kick goal against Randolph for a 2-1 overtime win on the first day of the Randolph Macon Select Tournament.
Wesley opened the scoring in the 36th minute when freshman Ayo Adedeji headed a cross from Jason Norris into the net for a 1-0 Wolverine lead.
An unassisted score from Randolph's Hong Moon just over three minutes later tied the contest at 1-1.
Neither team scored in the second half and it appeared the game would go into a second overtime before Lawrence was awarded a penalty kick at 97:36. Lawrence converted as the Wolverines captured the win in their season opener.
Nick Talarico had four saves in net for Wesley. David Humphreys stopped three shots for Randolph.
Wesley will take on the host team, Randolph-Macon, on the second day of the tournament.
