Wesley Falls in CAC Tournament

Owings Mills, Md. - The 5th seeded Wesley men's soccer team fell 3-0 to 4th seeded Stevenson today in the first round of the Capital Athletic Conference 2009 playoffs. The Mustang's Tyler King netted the first two goals in the victory ending Wesley's season.
King scored his first goal at 21:42 of the first half after he took a throw in then dribbled down the right side sneaking a shot past Wesley goalie, Nick Talarico (Little Egg Harbor, N.J.).
Wesley fought back with a tough defensive effort in the rest of the first half leaving the Wolverines down 1-0 at the horn.
Wesley had its chances in the 2nd half when a brilliant header by Omega Dabale (Jos, Nigeria) was saved by Mustang goalie, Ryan Flannelly just before the 72 minute mark.
Stevenson added the second and third goals just over 5 minutes apart late in the 2nd half as King found the net after he dribbled in from the left side after a restart at 78:13.
Kyle Baker put the icing on the cake, when he converted on a penelty kick after Wesley's Dan Canova (Ocean City, N.J.) received a red card in the box at 83:26.
Stevenson moves on to face #1 seeded Salisbury University on November Tuesday, November 3.
