BRIDGEWATER, Va. - Wesley held a 3-1 lead late in the second half, but Randolph-Macon tied the game and Brock Barbeau scored just over three minutes into overtime to down the Wolverines 4-3 at the Upper 90 Soccer Challenge in the Valley.
The Yellow Jackets jumped ahead 1-0 early on a goal by Ethan Cornello in the 27th minute. That lead did not last long, however, as Dan Feather (Logan Twp./Kingsway Regional) boomed in the first of his two goals of the day less than three minutes later.
Kyle Long (Delaware, Ohio/Buckeye), who assisted on Feather's first half goal, broke the tie in teh 50th minute with an assist from Michael Monticchio (Middletown, Del./Middletown) off a corner kick.
Featherer scored again in the 60th minute with Nico Scarpato (Washington Township, N.J./Washington Township) getting the assist for a two goal lead.
Randolph-Macon, however, scored in the 81st and 83rd minutes to tie things up and send the game to overtime Mike Urbanik assisted on the first goal of the comeback, then tied the game with an unassisted goal.
Mark Mattern (Carney, Md./Kenwood) made six saves in goal for the Wolverines. Matty Rocawich stopped five shots for the Yellow Jackets.
