Wesley Stings Hornets

 The Wesley College men's soccer team defeated Shenandoah University with a score of 2-0 Wednesday night at Scott D. Miller Stadium.

The Wolverines were the first to put points on the board. At 27:57, Kyle Long (Delaware, Ohio/Buckeye) scored a breakaway goal, giving the Wolverines a 1-0 lead.

Wesley continued their drive into the second period, with an early goal scored by Dan Featherer (Logan Twp./Kingsway Regional), assisted by Long. The assist gave him his 13th point of the season, leading the team. He and Featherer both scored their fifth goal of the year.

Mark Mattern (Carney, Md./Kenwood) started the game in goal, making one save. Brian Zuber (Wenonah, N.J./Gloucester Catholic) entered in the second half, making one save as well.

James Dutcher made six saves for the Hornets.

Wesley advanced their record to 3-3-2. Their next contest is Saturday, September 24 at York College (Pa.) at 3:00pm.
