DOVER, Del. - Wesley College picked up its fourth tie in Capital Athletic Conference play with a 1-1 draw against Frostburg State.
The Wolverines (5-3-5, 1-0-4 CAC) struck first on Pat Slinka's (Sicklerville, N.J./St. Joseph's Prep) first goal of the year. Dan Featherer (Columbia, Md./Long Reach) sent a corner kick from the left corner to the far right where the defenseman knocked it home for a 1-0 lead in the 41st minute.
The Bobcats (6-1-4, 1-1-2 CAC) tied things at 1-1 when the Wolverines scored an own goal less than a minute into the second half.
In the first overtime, Featherer had a great chance with a hard shot from 15 yards but Jack made a diving save. With less than two minutes left in the period, Featherer sent a free kick deep inside the box, but Jack outjumped the Wolverine offense.
Both teams had one chance in the second extra period, but in the end the teams settled for a draw.
Mark Mattern (Carney, Md./Kenwood) made eight saves for Wesley, while Abiye Jack had the same number for the Bobcats.
The Wolverines held a 22-15 advantage in shots.
Wesley travels to Salisbury on October 12 at 3:30 PM.
