Men’s Soccer Allows Early Goal in CAC Loss at Marymount (Va.)

ARLINGTON, Va. – Wesley College's men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision at Capital Athletic Conference rival Marymount (Va.) on Wednesday night at Long Bridge Park.  The Wolverines now stand at 5-5-1 overall and 0-3 in the CAC while the Saints move to 3-9 on the year and 1-2 in league play.

Marymount scored just three minutes and 48 seconds into the game on an unassisted goal by Ahmed Elmanialawy and from then on it was a defensive battle.

A shorthanded Wesley team outshot the Saints, 17-15, including 12-8 in the second half, and put seven shots on goal.  Unfortunately, all seven of those shots were stopped by Marymount goalkeeper Logan Cropper.

Zack Baker made four saves in the contest for the Wolverines who host Southern Virginia University at 1:30 pm on Saturday, October 11.
